Are reps having enough conversations?

№ 152 · Meetings per rep per week

Definition

MetricQualified meetings held per rep per week

Unitheld qualified meetings per rep per week

Line of meeting count per rep per week. Pull calendar data. Useful only when paired with outcome measures (low meetings + high attainment = efficient; high meetings + low attainment = busywork). Example: median 18 meetings/week; top performers 24-28.

B2B SaaS sales development role, $47M median company revenue, $50K median ASP, 78% North America. Measured as Stage 0 meetings held per month converted to a weekly rate, not meetings booked. · The unit is the whole argument on this card. Bridge Group's 2025 SDR study reports a global median monthly quota of 10 held meetings at Stage 0, but that median hides a large definitional spread: teams using an introductory meeting standard run at 16.0 per month, semi-qualified at 10.4, and fully qualified at 9.0. A team hitting 16 per month on an introductory definition is not outperforming a team hitting 9 on a fully qualified one. Stage 1 converted opportunities run at a median of 6 per month, down 43% since 2018, so the gap between held and converted is roughly 40% and any chart showing only booked meetings hides it. For AEs rather than SDRs the frame is different again, with Bridge Group's 2024 AE data showing 17 calls, 23 emails, 12 LinkedIn touches and 8 other activities per day, and no published held-meeting median. Benchmark against the definition you actually use.

Category split omitted: The meeting-definition split and the phone versus email channel split both come from a single publisher, so the requirement for two independent Tier 1 or Tier 2 sources is not met.

03

When it looks bad

Meeting volume holds flat or rises while meetings-to-opportunity conversion falls, which means the team is hitting an activity number by quietly lowering the bar on what counts as a meeting.

Eleven meetings booked per SDR per month, four actually held, and one converting to a Stage 1 opportunity.

04

What to do about it

  • Report held and converted rather than booked, and put all three on the same chart. Bridge Group 2025 puts the median at 10 held at Stage 0 against 6 converted at Stage 1, so a booked-only number conceals roughly a 40% drop.
  • Shift channel mix toward phone if quality conversations are the constraint. Bridge Group 2025 shows phone-centric teams averaging 56 dials and 4.6 quality conversations per day against email-centric teams at 28 dials and 3.4, so phone buys more conversations but at sharply diminishing returns per dial.
  • Align SDRs to AE territories. 82% of teams now do this, up from 56% in 2018, but only 40% of inbound-only teams do, and misalignment shows up as held meetings that the AE does not value.
  • Fix the meeting definition before benchmarking anything. Moving from an introductory standard to a fully qualified one drops the number from 16 to 9 per month with no change in team behaviour.
